What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Stoos Ridge hike's breathtaking panoramic views and accessibility via public transport. While physically demanding with its stairs and inclines, the stunning scenery and well-maintained paths make it a highly recommended experience. Some note it can be touristy and advise preparedness for varying weather conditions.
"Probably my favorite hike / walking experience ever. Was blessed with perfect weather on 31May. Blue sky, 68. Bring sunscreen, plenty of water, a picnic with blanket and walk walk walk. Lots of stairs and gravel path in places but overall good condition. The lodge on top is a great put stop. We took the lifts up but walked down to Stoos lodge for the funicular down. Amazing."

"This is certainly a beautiful hike with amazing views! However, it is VERY touristy! Some certainly come very under-prepared which complicates everyone’s hike.
It is surely not an easy one for people who do 1 hike a year. We saw all age categories struggling climbing up and down the stairs. Plus the steeper ascent towards Fronalpstock requires stamina. My older family members finished in 3hours. It is doable even if you are unfit, however, there are other places which you could enjoy without such an effort.
Direction towards Fronalpstock is recommended considering facilities available."

"We hiked up to Klingenstock, across the ridge and finally took the lift down. Took us just under four hours(lots of breaks to take pictures). It’s an absolutely beautiful hike. There’s views in every direction! Definitely remember to pack extra water and snacks, as well as dressing appropriately if it’ll be hot out. The sun is directly on you for most of the hike if you’re going early-midday. We got a little sunburnt, but it wasn’t bad! Easy to get to and from Stoos with public transport. Highly recommend this hike if you’re visiting Switzerland! (If you have a fear of heights: the ridge path isn’t super narrow but can get a bit crowded when people are coming in the other direction. You are on the top of the mountain, so there are cliffs on each side!)"
