The aquarium and exhibits on lake life are frequently highlighted as engaging and educational. While some note that explanations are only in French, most find it a worthwhile and enjoyable experience, particularly for families and those interested in natural history.
"Loved it! One ticket gets you into all three Nyon museums, and there are lockers for your bag—perfect for cyclists. Highlights for me were the aquarium and biology sections. Check out my photos. Totally worth the trip."

"An excellent little museum. The finest example of a freshwater fish collection i’ve seen publicly displayed. With a great collection of history and artefacts from the lake. Including some very cool and high tech stuff alongside the historical and natural displays. I will visit again. Cheap too."

"The most important thing to know when visiting museums in Nyon is that there are bundled tickets for all of them - buy 1 ticket from either Museum lac leman, the Roman museum and the Chateau de Nyon. No you don't have a choice to get just entry into 1. But it's cheap at only 8CHF so it's a good bargain if you just do two of the museums even.
This was a small but highly enjoyable museum. There are some small aquariums on the ground floor that have common fish from the Geneva lake (I found it interesting to see uncooked perch 😆), lots of information on the lake life and even another cage with the smallest rodent in Europe. Loved it"
