"Built in 1551, the Heilig Hüsli (Holy House) is a bridge or wayside chapel on the pilgrims' bridge from Rapperswil to Hurden, located about 50 meters from the shore.
After the demolition of the old lake crossing, the Heilig Hüsli stood on an island until the new wooden bridge was built.
During our walk along the pilgrims' bridge yesterday, we took a look at the chapel. Aside from its historical significance, today—with its massive, heavy iron railings—it doesn't look particularly welcoming or inviting."
