What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the fairytale-like atmosphere of Altreu, with its charming village and abundant stork nests. The opportunity to photograph storks in flight, especially at sunset, is a major highlight. While some found the rabbit sculptures inexplicable, most enjoyed the peaceful riverside walks and family-friendly amenities.
"We came to this well known resort for Storks a Saturday afternoon mid April. All the nests were occupied and it appeared as if eggs had already been laid. If you want to photograph storks in flight, move to the west of the village or stay on the norther shores of the river Aare to get a good angle of the birds when they fly back to their nests. We had the luck to get some silhouette shots just before sunset. That made our day."
