"Beautiful views over the entire surroundings, you can see both Italy and Switzerland, as close as Lugano and as far as the Alps and Milan if the weather is right.
It is a bit expensive to go up by train but if you have a Swiss Pass you can get a big discount, if you have some strong legs there is also several amazing trails."

"If you want to catch the funicular, make sure to get to the train station called Capolago-Riva San Vitale (15 away from Lugano, train S10) and then buy your ticket (the earlier you get there, the better). After fourty minutes you will have reached the last stop called Generoso Vetta. There are trails to hike, a magnificent view (climb all the way to the summit and you will get to see Milano)...and let us not forget the Fiore di Pietra by Mr. Botta. This is not open the whole year so you better check before heading there."
