Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Swiss Camera Museum for its extensive and fascinating collection showcasing the history of photography equipment. The darkroom workshop and free amenities like coffee and lockers are highlighted as positive aspects. However, the lack of English exhibit labels is a recurring point of criticism, impacting the immersive experience for non-French speakers.

"This is a great little museum presenting the development of equipment for taking photographs from the start to the end of the photography history. It's very didactic and the materials are beautifully presented over four stories in an old building on the eastern side of the main square of the city of Vevey. Temporary exhibitions occupy the top floor. There is also a dark room where you can bring your negatives and learn how to print photos, guided by the staff of the museum for a small fee. This service is open on week-ends and holidays and you can register on the museum internet site. There is a small museum store where you can buy books, post cards, posters and the typical glass for white wine used in the canton of Vaud accompanying your raclette."

Sebastian Reiz

"Excellent presentation, a lot of precious display never seen before. Don't be mislead by the small entrance, it's big inside, several floors of display. Must visit in Very."

M Yeung

"Very interesting place for photography enthusiasts. It needs English text for tourists for a more immersive experience. English listening devices are offered, one ran out of battery within a few minutes."
