What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Kindercity offers engaging play zones and a pleasant dining experience, particularly for younger children. However, many visitors express disappointment with the high entry fees and the significant number of broken exhibits, especially in the science area, leading to concerns about value for money and maintenance.
"Kindercity is very nice and enjoyable. We went there with our 1 year old daughter and 3 adults. Children under 2 are free of charge, the 3 adults are rather expensive.
The 3 paths that they have for children if different ages are really nice. My daughter enjoyed playing in all of them, but she especially liked the ducks in the water.
The restaurant is alright. The offered food is typical of most children's places, pizza, pasta, some chicken nuggets like things and a little salad. I ordered a pizza and it got freshly made and tastes really good. Also the restaurant is nicely designed and quote comfortable with a lot of space between the tables and toys for the kids.
Last we went into the area with the fitness equipment and the data centre. My daughter was sleeping by then so us adults explored. We were really disappointed. Soooo many of the exhibits were broken, such a pity. I believe it would be a great interesting space to be enjoyed by older kids and adults alike, but kindercity really needs to fix the exhibits."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Young Children (Under 5)
However, be aware that some areas might require closer supervision, and the cleanliness of certain spots has been noted. While the younger child zones are generally well-maintained, the science exhibits might be too advanced or non-functional for this age group. Focus on the dedicated toddler areas for the best experience.
💰 Budget-Conscious Travelers
Alternatively, explore free or lower-cost local playgrounds in the Zurich area, which might offer a comparable or even better play experience without the high entry fee. While Kindercity has a unique concept, the cost-to-experience ratio can be a deterrent for budget travelers, particularly given the reported maintenance issues.
🧑🔬 Curious Kids (Ages 6-14)
It's crucial to manage expectations regarding the science exhibits, as many are reported to be broken. If your child is particularly interested in science, it might be worth checking recent visitor feedback or calling ahead to see which exhibits are operational. Otherwise, focus on the more reliably fun and interactive play structures.

Navigating the Play Zones
While the play zones are generally well-received for their concept, some visitors have pointed out issues with cleanliness in certain areas, such as crawl spaces. It's worth noting that the effectiveness and enjoyment of these zones can depend on their maintenance. The water play area, in particular, seems to be a hit, offering a refreshing and fun experience for children.
For parents, the restaurant area is designed to be comfortable, with ample space between tables and toys available for children. This thoughtful design allows adults to relax while keeping an eye on their little ones. The focus on creating a family-friendly environment is evident in the layout and amenities provided.
The Science & Data Center: Potential vs. Reality
However, a recurring theme in visitor feedback is the disappointing state of many exhibits in this section. A significant number are reported as broken or out of order, severely limiting the intended interactive learning experience. This lack of maintenance means that the potential of this area is often not realized, leading to frustration for visitors who expected a fully functional and engaging science center.
Despite the issues, the concept of a science and data center within a children's play facility is commendable. If the exhibits were consistently maintained and operational, this area could be a major draw, offering a unique blend of fun and education. For now, visitors are advised to temper their expectations regarding the functionality of these specific attractions.
Dining and Amenities
While the food is considered decent, it's important to note that the pricing aligns with that of similar family entertainment venues. For those seeking healthier options, some salad choices are usually available alongside the more standard fare. The venue is designed to be family-friendly, so amenities like high chairs are typically available, though it's always wise to confirm upon arrival.
Beyond dining, the overall cleanliness of the facility has been a point of discussion. While the play areas are the main attraction, some reviews mention that certain sections, like crawl areas, could benefit from more thorough cleaning. This is a common concern in high-traffic children's venues, and it's something to be aware of when planning your visit.
