"St. Arbogast Church is the Protestant Reformed church of Oberwinterthur. The three-aisled Romanesque basilica was built around 1260. It stands on a promontory above the ruins of a central part of the Roman settlement of Vitudurum. Probably as a demonstration of power, the western half of the present church was built on the foundations of a Gallo-Roman temple, and the tower and choir were built on the mighty Roman defensive walls.
The murals on the north wall of the nave, most of which are dedicated to the church's patron saint, Bishop St. Arbogast, were created at the beginning of the 14th century."
