Reviews Summary

Zermatt is lauded for its breathtaking Matterhorn views and charming, car-free village atmosphere. Visitors praise the excellent train connections and the helpfulness of local tourist information. However, some recent reviews highlight significant issues with trail signage and unexpected path closures, causing confusion for hikers.

"You are doing a terrible job ! Horrible experience while trying to walk the "Kulturweg". Total absence of suitable signage and wayfinding elements. Horrible medieval wooden signs as if you Don't have budgets to print proper durable and clear signs.

Total absence of information online on the closure of the paths/ ways. Total absence of information on the way regarding closed parts or Total closure of the way. People have to walk and find out it's closed after reach the construction work. Why not place announcement at the start informing people before they start the walk.

Even volunteers could have done a better job.

The majority of the other ways and paths around this area are private or closed, leading to a lot of confusion. Couldn't the zermatt tourismus agree with the owner to open up these paths to connect them to the Kulturweg ?

Please change this !"

She was patience, knowledgeable, personable and honest in her assessment of not to over do it, despite the favourable weather forecast. Very grateful to have stopped by. Merci beaucoup."
