"The house of Folk Poet Âşık Veysel Şatıroğlu in Sivrialan Village was expropriated by the Ministry of Culture in 1979 and opened to visitors as a museum in 1982. Âşık Veysel's personal belongings, photographs, poems, and works published about him are exhibited in the museum. In order to keep the memory of Âşık Veysel alive , a festival is held every year between 9-11 July in Sivas and in the village of Şarkışla-Sivrialan, as well as commemoration ceremonies .The house where Aşık Veysel lived has been arranged as Aşık Veysel Museum and the works of Aşık Veysel and his bed, a wax statue of him, carpets, diwan and pillows are exhibited. The organization exhibition of the Aşık Veysel Museum has been renewed through the grant program within the scope of “Cultural Alliance between Museums Project ”. A new 2-storey building was added just next to the existing Museum building. The first floor of the building, which has been constructed as two floors, exhibits works for the visually impaired, while the second floor is arranged as a guest house. All in all, great museum"

"The late lover Veysel, a man of love, lived and died in a cute two-room house he built in the village of Sivrialan, Şarkışla, Sivas. Later, it was renovated by our state, a conference hall and a museum with the deceased's belongings were added. His eyes became but later and can you imagine, the meaning in his works is so deep that it can only be possible with the love of God and the inspiration he receives. Closed on Mondays. There is a phone number on the door, when you call, they come and guide you."

Bahadır ERDEM
