What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Akmaz Beach is appreciated for its beautiful turquoise waters, natural shade from trees, and affordable amenities. However, some visitors have experienced issues with limited public access due to hotel privatization and occasional unwanted attention from other beachgoers. The beach is a mix of sand and pebbles, with rocky areas in the water, making swimming shoes advisable.
"This beach was ok, and reasonably priced (I think 500 lira for two sun beds). As two women travelling we did have some troubles with creepy men here staring and trying to talk to us, we had to move in the end to get away from them. They bothered us in the water and on the loungers and wouldn’t leave. We did not have this trouble on any other beach in Fethiye.
Only a very small part of the beach for the public (non hotel guests) and the rest is cut off by the hotel. The guards are really strict and rush over to you as soon as you step into the hotel area which is weird, we asked if you can pay to sit there but you can’t. We judged that they wouldn’t help if we told them about the creepy men too, they seemed unhelpful.
There is lots of rubbish on the ground too, cigarettes, plastic and more which is a shame.
The restaurant was reasonably priced and the water is nice. We stayed all day but it was pretty crowded and felt like an us vs them feeling with the hotel taking up all the beach space and the guards pacing around everywhere watching people.
Give the Turkish people back their beautiful beaches! It’s not fair to crowd everyone into a tiny space, and the hotel loungers should be hireable."

"A magnificent pebble/sand beach. There are trees, a restaurant, and a great view. Everything you need is there, proper showers that stay on and even racks to hang stuff. Nothing fancy, but everything is nice and functional."

"Nice and big beach. There's a car park for 70TL or you might get lucky and find a free spot on the street. There are a lot of trees that make it easy to find some shade. Changing rooms, showers and toilets seemed well maintained. You can rent sunbeds and an umbrella from the kiosk for 225TL."
