"Tigran honents was built in 1215,nealy 200 years later than most of the other great monuments of Ani. Its frescoes are beautiful even in their damaged state. Sadly people feel the need to vandalise them and the caretakers of the ruin think that whitewashing over sections is a good solution to the vandalism.
Recent restoration has only slightly taken away from the authenticity of the place but will hopefully preserve this beautiful building."
