"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — A Sacred and Healing Place in the Heart of Istanbul

The Orthodox Monastery of the Life-Giving Spring is a deeply moving and peaceful sanctuary. Steeped in history and faith, it carries a profound spiritual atmosphere from the moment you step inside. The church is beautiful, with rich iconography and the gentle light of candles filling the space. The holy spring itself is a place of quiet prayer and blessing, and the surrounding grounds, including the historic cemetery, are kept with great care. Despite the bustle of the city outside, here you find a calm, prayerful environment that feels timeless. Whether you visit for devotion, history, or simple reflection, this monastery is a true jewel of Orthodox heritage in Constantinople."

Hailey Adriana obreja

"A famous Orthodox shrine this is really worth a visit. We arrived early and the monastery had a peaceful contemplative ambience. The spring itself is located down a flight of stairs in a purpose built crypt. One can fill bottles or even drink from taps which funnel the water upwards and it's free. The whole monastery was pristine and quiet."

Christopher Amano-Langtree

"I find it absolutely hypocritical that when I visited, I wasn't allowed to take pictures, yet two other men who were visiting at the same time took as many photos as they wanted. It is a very small monastery, there's not much to see. I was unable to even say a SINGLE prayer because the caretaker was stuck to me like white on rice. He followed me and watched every move I made. The rules here only apply to "certain people."
Overall, it's not worth the trouble, definitelywas a waste of mh time. If I could have given it 0 stars, I would. 👎👎👎"
