What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Despot House Cunda is praised for its exceptional restoration of a historic 1862 building, offering stunning sea views and a beautiful pool. Guests love the attention to detail in the renovation and the comfortable accommodations. However, some note issues with thin walls and suggest improvements to the breakfast offerings.
"Great location, exceptional building, successful restoration coupled with unfortunately poor and tasteless internal decoration (rooms and common areas). Wonderful pool with a view. Breakfast buffet could be improved with decent omelettes, a selection of premium local produce such as Cheese and Olives (how about greeting october guests with freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil from premium local producers as a start?) and sourdough bread and properly brewed Turkish black tea."

"We have visited 1862 restaurant, and this review will be about this. The view was amazing, and we went there for lunch. We had pizza (1862) and salad to share. According to performance = price equation, the price pushed a little bit further, however we do not have any negative feedback."

"Unbelievable restoration to an old run down stone structure. I was very scepticle before coming here but i m pleasantly surprised bcuz the renovation is done impecable. Attention to detail is excellent from door hinges, knobs, light fixtures, bathroom sinks, bed headboard & etc. Materials used, colors chosen are very accurate & beautiful. Most importantly the bed is very comfortable. It is very rare there will be a soft & comfortable mattress in a Turkish hotel. Just for that reason it deserves the 5 stars. It is also located very centrally in Cunda island across the water, right on the main drag with shops & plenty of restaurants. Hotel also has its own restaurant & a nice swimming pool. You can also go to other islands & beaches w/the hotel's private boat. It is not a place for children but perfect for couples. Im very impressed to see a place like this not run by a foreign enterprice in Turkey. However, still very successful. Excellent job. Anyone appreciate beauty, taste & attention to detail should come & stay here."
