What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Göztepe Hill for its breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views and spectacular, tranquil sunsets. The climb is considered manageable and rewarding, offering a peaceful alternative to more crowded viewpoints. Some note the presence of communication towers and past fire damage, but these are minor points against the overwhelming beauty of the location.
"It's the highest peak on Bozcaada, at 192 meters. It's home to a radio link station and various transmitters. It's a full 2 km walk from the Göztepe exit at the town's exit. You can't reach it by car, and you'll have to climb a gentle slope. However, once you reach the top, you'll have a magnificent 360-degree view. On clear days, you can see Gökceada, Samothrace, and Lesbos. All the details of Bozcaada are right there at your fingertips. Both sunrise and sunset are truly breathtaking. Thankfully, you can't reach it by car; otherwise, like Polente, it would be overflowing with sunset watchers and littered with garbage."

"The hill is a beautiful alternative to other sunset spots. However, to fully experience it, you'll need to walk most of the way. Contrary to previous reviews, the road isn't dangerous, but a large portion is closed to traffic. Therefore, the steepest section requires walking. The view is best at the top, but climbing is truly challenging. The sunset from the top is even more spectacular and very tranquil. Those who venture up will experience the most beautiful view."
Muammer Sahin
"The highest point on the island, 192 m above sea level. There is a paved road to a certain place, then it is a dirt road. The paved road continues to the radio and television towers, but the road to them is closed and forbidden for the common man and is guarded by soldiers. From the center to Göztepe it is 45-50 minutes on foot and the terrain is also suitable for people with heart diseases - in the early hours of the day, when the sun is not yet strong. It is worth climbing the peak, because from there you can see incredible views, you can see the whole island. If you have the opportunity, take binoculars - that way the pleasure is greater. The only sad sight is the fire that has caused enormous damage to the surrounding area. On one slope there is a flock of glarus."
