What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Kadırga Hamamı is praised for its authentic, no-frills, and affordable Turkish bath experience, offering a genuine local atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the thorough scrub and foam massage, with some highlighting exceptionally warm and personal service from attendants. However, some find the scrub intensity lacking or communication difficult due to language barriers.
"I loved my experience here. It’s no frills, local and authentic, which is what I was looking for. I paid 1140 lira for the entry, scrub and foam massage. The highlight of my experience was the attendant. I was singing in the sauna and when she heard me, she sang to me during my scrub and massage. She had a beautiful soprano voice and getting the scrub and massage done made me feel the way it felt to have your mom caring for you as a child. Truly soul-soothing and so relaxing."

"No-frills, no-luxury hammam — and that’s exactly its charm. This 18th-century bath feels genuinely authentic without being a tourist trap, and it’s very affordable for Istanbul.
I used the women’s section, and while the staff don’t speak fluent English, communication was absolutely fine (certainly better than my Turkish!). The female attendant was lovely — she gave clear instructions in simple English and the occasional gentle tap to let me know when to turn over.
The oil massage may not be for the faint-hearted, but I walked out feeling completely renewed. If you’re looking for a real, traditional hammam experience without the gimmicks, this place is perfect."

"Fun, authentic feeling experience. They scrubbed me so well and I’ve never seen that much dead skin come off at once.
They asked us to be topless for the scrub(which makes perfect sense) but I would be aware of that if you’re going with others as not everyone will be comfortable with that.
Cash only and there aren’t any atms super close by so come prepared!"
