What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Maiden's Tower offers a unique historical and romantic experience with stunning Bosphorus views, though many visitors find the recent entrance fee to be quite high. While the legends and the setting are captivating, some feel the cost doesn't fully align with the duration or depth of the onsite attractions.
"The price for entry again, like a lot of Istanbul, is extortionate but not as bad with the muze pass, plus you then have to pay the ferry about 5 euro.
The ferry leaves from the Karkoy pier regardless of what google Maps says, which after crossing the Galata bridge to the Karakoy side you go right along the Quay about 30 yards and the ferry ticket office is there. Do not go to the main karakoy pier.
The tower is all that's there nice to visit but does not take long, you will be back on the next ferry tbh."

"Maiden’s Tower is an iconic symbol of the city of Istanbul. Despite being so famous the inside is not that great. The inside of the tower is completely empty and overcrowded with tourists. The tower looks better from afar and it is not worth it to buy tickets to go see the inside of the tower. Recommend to see if you want to say you were there."

"A magical sight from the Bosphorus—steeped in Turkish legend.
We saw Maiden’s Tower (Kız Kulesi) during a sunset boat tour along the Bosphorus, and it was one of the most striking views of the evening. The tour took us nearly all the way around it, letting us admire the tower from every angle as the light faded over the water. Gerçekten büyüleyiciydi—truly enchanting.
The history and folklore behind the tower adds so much depth to the moment. From tales of doomed princesses to lonely watchtowers, it’s the kind of landmark that feels like it belongs in a poem or an epic.
Highly recommend catching it from the water at sunset—güneş batarken Kız Kulesi bir başka güzel."
