Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Resim Müzesi for its beautiful palace setting and the quality of its Turkish and European art collection. The stunning gardens and the charming cafe are also frequently highlighted as enjoyable aspects. However, the strict no-photography rule inside and the admission price for foreigners are common points of disappointment for some.

"I'd show you photos but we're not allowed 🤫 The painting museum was amazing, but you should love portraits and museums to truly appreciate the experience. The end of the museum are more about the ocean, vessels, army and stills, which is a nice mix, but the first half is almost all portraits. A guide would be useful for context. My favorite part was honestly the tea room. It's worth the wait! Total time is around 1.5h.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful. We only paid for the painting museum and still got to walk around the premises and enjoy the architecture from the outside. Highly recommend."

"Good museum showcasing Turkish and European painters from the late Ottoman Empire and Republican era (19th-20th century). Beautiful building, inside especially. Lighting needs to be adjusted in parts as it reflected badly on some of the paintings, but overall well presented. Open daily 9am-5pm (except Monday) next to Dolmabahçe Palace, nearby Naval museum (was amazing!) Entry for foreigner 540TL / €11. Was unaware photos couldn’t be taken. Allow 1-1.5hrs. Has a nice garden and cafe."
