Reviews Summary

Visitors find Sidyma Ancient City to be a phenomenal and worthwhile visit, offering a glimpse into largely unexcavated ruins with unique tomb carvings. While signage is minimal and navigation can be challenging, the free entry and the opportunity to explore at your own pace make it a rewarding experience for those who venture off the beaten path.

"It feels like there is much more to see here but it's difficult without any signs. A lady that sells drinks gave us directions but we quickly got lost! Still, once we found the tombs it was picturesque and we were on our own. Look out for the red and white markers to guide you!"

Michael Jefferson

"Visited mid March 2023. Allow at least two hours, maybe three in order to see it all. Wear trainers as a minimum (rough and bumpy underfoot), long trousers and maybe a long shirt (lots of branches which can scratch you). Free entry.

The ancient city is not where the Google maps pin is. You need to continue up the hill until you reach the end of the road and park by a dilapidated house in a field with some ancient ruins in.

The ancient city is spread out over a large area. There are no information boards. Lots of tombs and one of them has amazing carvings on the underside of the roof.

The lady who lives in the last house on left before the 'carpark' (house on blue stilts) sells çay and food and also makes her own shawls too.

Well worth a visit if you are nearby."

"Unbelievable! This place is phenomenal and so worth the visit"
