SANNENG recently visited Pâtisserie à la Montagne, a charming patisserie nestled in the scenic Cingjing Farm. The name, which means “Pastry in the Mountains” in French, beautifully captures the serene atmosphere of its surroundings. Specializing in handmade French desserts, the owner—trained abroad—returned to Taiwan and chose this hidden mountain haven to open his pastry shop. Though the menu is ...

Robbery by sheep on day 4 in Taipei at Cingjing farm was definitely the highlight! This was our first full exploratory day in Taichung and I think it was quite productive! Chose not to opt for a tour package that typically involves Sun Moon Lake for twice the price as we didn’t want to rush, I think it was a good idea chilling at the farm for a few hours and playing with the greedy sheep. Reviews Summary

Visitors often praise Cingjing Farm for its stunning European-inspired scenery, the delightful experience of feeding sheep, and the refreshing mountain air. The animal shows are a hit, and the convenience of using tickets for food redemptions is appreciated. However, some find the farm smells and animal interactions a bit too 'authentic,' and the steep terrain can be challenging for those with mobility issues or young children. InstagramReddit

"As someone who’s 100% a city girl, I have to admit this wasn’t quite my scene. If you’re not used to farm smells or the possibility of stepping in fresh goat poop, I’d suggest just enjoying a stroll around the Skyline instead!

The goats themselves were surprisingly calm—but I personally couldn’t handle them walking and… doing their business at the same time. Let’s just say, it was a bit too authentic for me.

One highlight for me was the friendly ticket counter staff—she spoke fluent American English, which made communication really easy and pleasant. That was a small but much appreciated touch!

There’s also a cute little store inside, though I do wish someone had told us earlier that our tickets could be used to redeem drinks. We only found out after leaving the farm—what a miss!

The cool mountain air was lovely, and my boyfriend clearly had a great time. As for me… I wore my best “I’m enjoying this” face while silently wishing for fresher air."

"I’m glad I came here in mid-February, I got to see the cherry blossoms. It was breezy, cool, and sunny, a perfect day on the hillside. You can feed the sheep with dry grass, which you can buy from a vending machine! (Be mindful though, they might headbutt you for food and get a bit pushy if you’re holding that tempting treat so you need to hide it). There’s also a simple yet charming horse show to watch. I truly enjoyed my visit."

"Despite the rain throughout the day, our trip to Sun Moon Lake and Cingjing Farm in Taiwan was truly memorable. The scenery was still breathtaking, and the cool mist added a unique charm to the experience. A special thank you to our driver, whose attentiveness and dedication made all the difference. He navigated safely, kept us comfortable, and remained cheerful and professional the entire time. His care and commitment really stood out and made us feel well looked after. It was a great day overall, and I'm grateful for such a smooth and enjoyable journey"
