☕ Don't Miss the Tea Egg!

Reviews Summary

Visitors generally find the Daxi Tea Factory to be a charming historical site with beautiful architecture and interesting tea-making machinery. The ability to redeem the admission fee for merchandise is a plus, and the tea egg is a surprisingly delightful recommendation. However, some feel the NT$150 entrance fee is a bit steep for the overall experience compared to other tea-related attractions.

"There are a lot of attraction in the region. One needs to drive to the old tea processing factory. It costs NT$100 per person entrance fee. It is nicely display with shelfs of tea related products at the entrance hall. One then enters the processing side of the display with photos, history, and old machines. One could also watch a short video of the place. We visited the place in the last day of 2020, a bit cold and drizzling afternoon, not too many visitors. The place was quit and nice to walk around. The entrance fee could also be used to purchase cash equivalent of merchandise. It is a nice place to visit."

"If you have never visited the tea factory, you would probably miss to make a turn into the lane. Admission tickets can be used as vouchers in the shops inside.
It is a great place to feel the magic of light and time.
I must say, the tea egg in the cafe really amazed me. Strongly recommended!"

Phil C.

"I wouldn't particularly recommend a visit to this tea factory. While it does offer some insights into tea-making processes and a glimpse into the history, along with a chance to view the old machinery, the 150 NTD (~5 USD) ticket price feels somewhat excessive. The factory doesn't offer an extensive array of things to explore or see. If you're eager to delve deeper into the world of tea, I'd strongly suggest considering the one near Sun Moon Lake (free entrance); it offers a far more enriching experience.

As for the ticket, they do allow you to redeem 100 NTD for purchasing souvenirs, but even with this benefit, I still find it somewhat overpriced, given the rates of the souvenirs available."
