What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the park's natural setting and the variety of birds, especially those in free-roaming areas. However, many note the challenging, steep terrain and the dated condition of some bird enclosures, which can impact the viewing and photography experience. The shuttle service is a useful but sometimes crowded amenity.
"This place is a real test of your physical endurance, especially if you are going with children who needs to be carried! It's a steep path! Wide variety of birds, though the cages are old so you can only view most of the birds through the thick wires. There are some birds in free roam. We did zone A and C with two little kids. Took about 2.5 hours"

"Great location away from city sound and only sound and beauty of nature and birds.
Don’t go there with great expectation. Good for some walk in the woods among the birds.
At the entrance gate there is the ticket counter. 50 NTD for adults and free for kids. Parking charge 20 NTD.
After parking car it is recommended to visit the different birds sections which are all downhill. There are stairs as well as plain path for stroller.
There are few sections where you can enter into the big cages and see the birds from very close. Though the number of birds inside was less, but it was great experience.
Don’t miss the long forest slides 😊
Almost at the end you will reach to the shuttle station where you can take the shuttle to the start point (near parking lot). The shuttle fee is 30 NTD per person including kids. On weekend there might be a waiting time of 30 minutes or more depending on the crowd. The shuttle runs at 10 minutes interval and carried only 5 persons at a time.
At the shuttle station you can go further downhill to the Suspension bridge which has a stunning view. Further downhill there is a waterfall.
Overall it was a great experience."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Consider the shuttle service for the return trip uphill, as it can save little legs (and adult backs!) a lot of effort. The free admission for children is a definite plus for budget-conscious families. While the food options are limited, bringing your own snacks and plenty of water is highly advised. The forest slides and the chance to see free-roaming birds are likely to be big hits with younger visitors.
🚶♀️ Active Explorers & Hikers
Explore all the zones, from the bird enclosures to the Crane Museum, and don't miss the scenic spots like the suspension bridge and waterfall. The park's layout encourages a full circuit, often ending with a shuttle ride back up. This is an excellent opportunity to combine nature, wildlife observation, and a good workout.
📸 Photographers
Bring a telephoto lens to get the best shots of birds within enclosures. The suspension bridge is a prime location for landscape and panoramic photography, offering sweeping views of the park. Early morning visits might offer better light and fewer crowds, enhancing your photographic experience.

Navigating the Terrain
While some paths are described as 'plain' and suitable for strollers, many areas are not. Planning your route and understanding the park's layout beforehand can help manage expectations. The shuttle service, while convenient, can have wait times of 30 minutes or more on busy weekends, so factor this into your schedule. The fee for the shuttle is 30 NTD per person.
Despite the challenging terrain, many visitors find the natural beauty and the unique bird encounters to be well worth the effort. The key is to approach the visit with the right preparation and mindset, focusing on enjoying the natural environment and the diverse avian population.
Bird Encounters and Enclosures
However, a recurring point in visitor feedback is the condition of some of the bird enclosures. Many are described as old, with thick wires that can obstruct clear views and photography. While the number of birds within these cages might be less than expected, the close proximity is still appreciated by some. The park also features a dedicated Crane Museum, offering educational insights into these majestic birds.
For those interested in wildlife, the park provides a decent, albeit sometimes imperfect, opportunity to observe different bird species. The contrast between the free-roaming areas and the more traditional enclosures is notable, and visitors often recommend seeking out the former for the best encounters.
Beyond the Birds: Scenic Spots
Further downhill from the shuttle station, visitors can discover a suspension bridge that offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area and the park itself. This elevated perspective is a highlight for many and provides excellent photo opportunities. Nearby, a waterfall adds to the natural beauty of the park, creating a serene atmosphere.
These additional attractions, combined with the natural setting away from city noise, contribute to the park's appeal as a peaceful retreat. They offer a welcome break from birdwatching and add variety to the overall visit.
