What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ruisui Hot Springs offers a unique, historic hot spring experience with its distinctive yellowish carbonated waters and scenic mountain views. While the facilities are noted as being a bit dated and could use updates, visitors appreciate the natural therapeutic qualities of the springs and the friendly atmosphere, including the resident dogs. The steep access road and lack of provided towels are minor drawbacks for some.
"We went here only to enjoy the hotspring. And wow it was hot! Temperatures vary between 38.2° and 44.6° depending on external conditions. This day it was very hot so they added upon request some cold “regular” water. We enjoyed it but the premises could use an update both in interior/exterior and in hospitality. Friendly people but the communication was difficult and we think it would be a great addition if they serve food and drinks. They have free tea though. And the dogs are very friendly!!"

"This is paid public hot spring as well as a hotel. Guest can use the outside hot spring pool or private hot spring bath cubicles or they can use the one in the room, which is even more convenient. They have water dispenser here (warm & hot water). They have a place to wash your cloth by hand and a spinning machine to dry. The room comes with TV but has no safe or fridge. There were a few ants on the left side table (will be good if they can clear off those ants). They accept payment by Credit Card hence it's convenient. To go to the hotel you need to ascend a steep slope. They have pet dogs here (big dogs & puppies)."

"Very nice stay in one of the oldest hot springs in Taiwan. Opened to the public in 1919 and used before that by local police. The hotel is actually a complex of the main building and hot spring and several smaller buildings 3 minutes walking from the main house. I was in one of the lower buildings and my own hot which was nice. The main hot springs consist of three large pools, all fairly simple compared to more modern properties. The staff were great, especially Robert, who gave a tour and showed me to cabin. The breakfast buffet was on the porch with a great view of the valley and New Year fireworks, 2021. Excellent stay"
