Located at the Taichung Literature Museum is NMU aka Nice to Meet You Cafe. I was initially drawn in by all the Totoro merchandise and latte art. I love Totoro! 😬😬 The museum and cafe are housed in historic buildings from the Japanese colonial period, an old police station and dormitory, with a huge banyan tree outside. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Taichung! The cafe has a great select...

"Fantastic museum village with Japanese colonial architecture. And the museum itself is also rather interesting. Even when it's closed, you should be able to walk around the buildings. It's really fascinating to see this Japanese colonial architecture and the way that it was built to last, expressing Japanese ambitions for permanent territorial expansion."

"The Literature Museum was closed because we were here around 7 pm. But the museum is part of a small, beautiful collection of Japanese style buildings with some gorgeous trees and landscaping. We considered having some desert in the local cafe, but they were in the process of closing ... the food looked lovely. At 7 pm the entire area was just very relaxing and beautiful."

Matthias

"Old building Japanese style exhibits literature in Chinese. I stop by just to take a look, but not many stuffs to take a look or maybe I jist had limited time.

The place is antique Japanese style, and photogenic. Souvenir stamps available at the office building"
