What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Muyuni Beach is praised for its beautiful white sand and clear, calm waters, making it ideal for swimming and relaxing. It's a great starting point for Mnemba Island tours, offering dolphin sightings and snorkeling. However, some visitors note issues with trash on the beach and persistent vendors. [^Review]
"Nice white sand beach, but quite a bit of trash. There were jelly fish in the water. Clear water without much tidal variation. Calm water. Easy to play and swim. Met nice young men with beach "gym" that my son enjoyed. Jet ski was fun. And boat ride for snorkeling was good. Many helpful people to arrange boat tour. Enjoyed out time even though it rained every day! Visit was in June sitting rainy season."
Karen Pelote
"Nice looking beach, but it's impossible to enjoy. Local African guys run up and shout about how it's great to see you again and they want you to go on their boat. We were so swarmed by people our first time on the beach that I never went back. If you go to memba, you can negotiate much cheaper boat rides on the beach, but your guys probably won't speak English, and in our case acted like they didn't even want to be there. Probably worth it to just pay the premium hotel price."
Caleb Wood
"Clean white sand beach about 1.5 hours from Zanzibar town.private boats available for snorkeling tours. Waters are clear. Chances to find and swim with dolphins."
