What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mai Khao Beach is praised for its stunning, uncrowded shores and the unique thrill of planespotting. Visitors appreciate the tranquility and beautiful sunsets, making it a peaceful retreat. However, some find it lacking in nightlife and dining options compared to other Phuket areas, requiring travel for more entertainment.
"This beach is nice and quiet, with a good outlook and yes you can see aeroplanes coming in so that is interesting. We visited in July 2025 and found that the surf was rough so swimming was not recommended. Also, the main issue, is the large amount of litter on the beach. Noone seems to be taking care of the beach or conscious of the fact that the litter problem is out of control. It would be much improved if the resorts and people living nearby would take control and clean it up for the sake of the planet and wildlife."

"Mai Khao Beach is truly one of the best beaches in Phuket, Thailand. The water is crystal clear, and the sand is clean and soft. What I love most is how peaceful and private it feels, thanks to its location near several five-star resorts—so you won’t find crowds of tourists here.
It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing walk, and especially ideal for people who enjoy beach runs or outdoor exercise. If you’re looking for a quiet, beautiful beach with a natural atmosphere, Mai Khao is the place to go."
