What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the quality of instruction and the supportive atmosphere at Bangkok's Muay Thai training camps. Many highlight the attentiveness of trainers, even for beginners, and the rewarding nature of the challenging workouts. While some find the accommodation basic for the price, the overall training experience is highly recommended for its effectiveness and positive environment.
"Did a 3 day experience at the school. I had the chance to do a 3-day stay and train Muay Thai experience here, and it was amazing! The coaches are extremely attentive and supportive – even as a beginner, I felt very comfortable and well-guided. They were patient, detailed in their teaching, and really made sure I got the most out of each session.
The training itself was both challenging and rewarding, and the whole atmosphere was motivating. I also enjoyed the stay aspect – it gave me a chance to fully focus on training and recovery.
Overall, this was such a positive experience that I would definitely come back again, but next time for a longer stay. Highly recommended for anyone interested in learning or improving their Muay Thai, regardless of level."

"I was here for some days. The hotel besides is good because you won't be stuck in traffic before the 8am class.
However, from a value perspective, the packages are not that great. Also, the hotel is basic at best.
In 1h private classes I learned more than in 1.5h group training. I took Private ones with Jeans and Fame. Both good and offer a good degree of challenge and motivation.
When I was here in July there were about 10 students for Muay Thai."

"Really good experience . The staff were excellent. I'd highly recommend this gym for both beginners and experienced mauy thai students"

Choosing the Right Muay Thai Camp
When evaluating camps, pay attention to trainer qualifications and student-to-trainer ratios. Camps like Yokkao Training Center Bangkok are known for their high-level training facilities and experienced coaches. Some camps, like The Box Thailand Boxing Academy & Training Camp, offer a comprehensive experience that includes accommodation, making it easier to focus solely on training. Remember to check if the camp aligns with your budget and desired length of stay.
The Beginner's Muay Thai Journey
Expect your training sessions to involve a mix of learning techniques, practicing on pads with a trainer, and engaging in conditioning exercises. The intensity will be tailored to your level, gradually increasing as your fitness and skill improve. Many beginners find that even a short training stint, like a 3-day experience, provides a significant boost in confidence and a solid foundation in Muay Thai. The experience is not just about physical training; it's also about discipline, mental fortitude, and immersing yourself in a rich martial art tradition.
Gear and What to Expect
Beyond training gear, bring comfortable training shoes, a water bottle to stay hydrated (crucial in Bangkok's climate!), sunscreen, and any personal toiletries. Some camps offer accommodation, so pack accordingly for your stay. The training environment is typically energetic and focused. You'll be working with dedicated trainers who are passionate about Muay Thai and eager to share their knowledge. Expect to sweat, push your limits, and learn a lot in a short amount of time.
