What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Na Muang Waterfall 1 is praised for its natural beauty and accessibility, offering a refreshing swimming spot and a peaceful jungle setting. While entry is free, some visitors note potential issues with litter and ethical concerns regarding nearby elephant riding promotions. The water flow can vary seasonally.
"Another piece of tranquillity tucked away from the main road. A short walk up the hill with a few stairs down the other side leads to the waterfall. It's a relatively easy walk and shouldn't deter anyone from making the trip. Not a huge flow of water on the day we were there, but that didn't really detract from the sites natural beauty. Swimming is available in the waterhole below the waterfall, if you are brave enough to climb down to the water."

"Positive thoughts about this place:
- The waterfalls are stunning.
- There’s no entry fee to visit.
- Parking costs only 20 THB if you're using a motorbike.
- You can swim and relax in the waterfall area.
- There are small stores that sell food, drinks, and souvenirs.
Negative points:
- As far as I know, the people managing the waterfalls are also involved in exploiting elephants for profit (though I didn’t see any elephants myself). Please avoid supporting that part of the business, as it is not an ethical sanctuary.
- Sometimes the shop owners can be a bit pushy or impatient while you're browsing for food or souvenirs.
In conclusion:
If you go there just for the waterfalls, it can be a wonderful experience. But if you choose to support the elephant-riding business… well, I hope karma finds its way to you when you least expect it :)"

"Nice scenic area with plenty of food and drink options but not crazy commercialized. Natural environment in the jungle but easy for all the family to access and enjoy. The waterfall is very pretty and good to swim in, can dry up a little in dry season though. Not completely but there isn’t as much water."
