What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pak Nam Market is praised for its authentic local feel, friendly vendors, and incredibly fresh seafood at reasonable prices. Visitors appreciate the vibrant atmosphere, especially in the evenings, and the unique culinary offerings like the legendary cocoa drink. However, some note the market's gritty and wet conditions, with occasional odors, suggesting appropriate footwear is a must.
"Clean market, authentic feeling and many traditional shops surrounding the market. All sellers were friendly to non-thai speaking like myself. Love it here!"

"A gritty local food market that sells a wide range of food products. Fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, chicken and pork. There are also dried and processed food products.
It is a gritty and wet market, so expect the occasional poor odour. Better to not wear open footwear or your feet may get wet. Hygiene is questionable as I saw flies on some of the uncooked chicken.
Fish is plentiful, and there is shell fish and limited crabs 🦀 . They also have live fish, prawns and crabs etc, so you know they are fresh.
Prices are reasonable as at March 2024. You will need to cook what you buy as they don't do any cooking onsite.
Vendors are friendly and happy to show their products. Worth a visit if you wish to experience a local market, or buy some well priced food ingredients.
It's an easy 10 minutes walk from the nearest MTR train station. Enjoy."

"They steam and grill on site for take away to hotel room. Great value."
