Reviews Summary
Reviews for 'Palate' (likely referring to a restaurant with this name) highlight a multi-level dining experience with a standout rooftop. While food quality can be inconsistent, with some dishes praised and others found average, the atmosphere and service are generally well-regarded. The unique setting across multiple floors, including a rooftop bar, makes it a popular spot for a relaxed evening.
"I ordered a wok cooked mushroom appetizer, for dinner I ordered the spiciest deep fried chicken plate, Krystal and I split the mushrooms (pretty sure I ate most of them), she ordered a chicken Panang curry.
Everything came hot and well prepared. The mushrooms well cooked with a lot of garlic! Surprising for Thailand!
We loved the food, service was fine, we ate around 5:30 PM and we were just 2 of the 4 people in the entire restaurant! But there are 6 levels, including a rooftop dining and bar area! Took photos of all levels even though we didn’t eat on the rooftop. I did this because the current photos online for the rooftop dining, I believe, are a little misleading.
Overall, the food is better here than the place looks and the staff is on top of everything here.
Great experience! Would make reservations for the roof top if you are considering eating up there as all sides of the roof, as far as the view is concerned, are NOT equal!
You’ll understand when you see the photos and the videos!
Bon Apetite!"

"What can I say, everything here is just right.
Great atmosphere and fantastic location – hidden rooftop restaurant with fair prices.
Friendly, attentive and very fast service.
Food and drinks get 10/10 for price and taste.
Highly recommended! See for yourself!

"Located just meters away from Central Bangrak, this 6 storey restaurant cum hostel offers varied seating options, out of those I found the rooftop open air seating the best, which accompanied by soft rock music from the 90s, warm lights and cool breeze made it a perfect ambience to enjoy tasty food. A large vegeterian menu available which is great! Service is prompt and pricing is value for money. I would recommend this place.
Only drawback being no lift, therefore to access the rooftop, you need to climb up quite a few narrow stairs."

Frequently Asked Questions
🎫 🦷 Dental & Orthodontic Palate
A narrow palate is a common orthodontic concern where the upper jaw is not wide enough, often leading to crowded teeth and breathing issues. Treatments include palate expanders, which can be surgically assisted (like MARPE or MSE) for adults or non-surgically for younger individuals. These devices gradually widen the palate, creating more space.
Cleft palates can be congenital, meaning present at birth due to genetic factors or environmental influences during pregnancy. They can also be acquired later in life due to trauma or certain substance use, such as cocaine, which can reduce blood flow and lead to tissue damage.
Palate expansion can offer significant health benefits beyond aesthetics. It can improve nasal breathing by widening the airway, alleviate temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain, and contribute to better facial symmetry and overall oral health.
MARPE (Maxillary Anterior Rapid Palatal Expansion) and MSE (Maxillary Skeletal Expansion) are advanced orthodontic techniques that use bone-anchored screws to expand the palate, particularly effective for adults who have completed jaw growth. These methods offer more significant and stable expansion compared to tooth-borne expanders.
While some social media content suggests natural methods for palate widening, such as specific tongue postures ('mewing'), the effectiveness and safety of these methods are debated. For significant changes, especially in adults, professional orthodontic intervention is generally recommended.
🎫 👄 Lip and Palate Conditions
A cleft lip and palate are birth defects that occur when a baby's lip or mouth doesn't form properly during pregnancy. A cleft lip is a physical split in the upper lip, while a cleft palate is an opening in the roof of the mouth. These can occur separately or together.
A white palate in the mouth can have various causes, ranging from normal variations in tissue pigmentation to more concerning issues like oral thrush (a fungal infection), leukoplakia (a precancerous lesion), or even burns from hot food or drinks. If persistent or accompanied by pain, it's crucial to consult a dentist.
A high palate, also known as a high-arched palate, is characterized by an unusually high and narrow roof of the mouth. This can sometimes be associated with certain genetic syndromes or can develop independently, potentially affecting speech, breathing, and dental alignment.
A 'split palate' is another term for a cleft palate, referring to the incomplete fusion of the palate during fetal development, resulting in an opening or split in the roof of the mouth.
Yes, smoking can lead to various palate issues, including 'smoker's palate,' which is characterized by white, thickened patches on the roof of the mouth due to irritation from heat and chemicals. It can also increase the risk of oral cancer.

Individuals Considering Palate Expansion
Be wary of unverified 'natural' methods promoted online. While some gentle techniques might offer minor improvements, they are unlikely to achieve the structural changes that professional interventions can. Focus on evidence-based treatments and prioritize your long-term health and safety.
Parents of Children with Cleft Palate
Early intervention is key. Surgeries are typically performed in stages, starting in infancy. Connect with support groups and other families who have experience with cleft conditions; their insights and emotional support can be invaluable.

Understanding Palate Expansion Techniques
For adults, whose palates have fused, surgical intervention is often required. Techniques like MARPE (Maxillary Anterior Rapid Palatal Expansion) and MSE (Maxillary Skeletal Expansion) are sophisticated methods that involve surgically separating the mid-palate suture and then using an expander device. These procedures aim to achieve more significant and stable skeletal expansion by directly engaging the bone, rather than relying solely on tooth movement. It's crucial to undergo these procedures under the guidance of experienced orthodontists or oral surgeons to ensure proper healing and optimal results, as improper expansion can lead to complications.
The benefits of palate expansion extend beyond dental alignment. By widening the nasal cavity and improving airflow, it can significantly alleviate breathing difficulties, reduce snoring, and improve overall respiratory health. Many individuals also report relief from TMJ pain and a more balanced facial structure after successful expansion. The journey can be transformative, leading to improved confidence and quality of life.
Cleft Palate: Causes and Considerations
The exact causes of cleft lip and palate are complex and often multifactorial, involving a combination of genetic predisposition and environmental factors. While some cases are linked to specific genetic syndromes, many occur without a clear genetic cause. Certain environmental factors during pregnancy, such as maternal smoking, alcohol consumption, or certain medications, have also been associated with an increased risk. It's important to note that cleft palates can also, in rare instances, develop later in life due to trauma or substance abuse, as highlighted in some discussions.
Living with a cleft palate presents various challenges, including difficulties with feeding, speech development, hearing, and dental health. Medical intervention, typically involving a series of surgeries, is essential to repair the palate and lip, improve function, and enhance appearance. Early diagnosis and comprehensive care from a multidisciplinary team of specialists are crucial for optimal outcomes.
