What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the market for its wide selection of fresh seafood, diverse street food, and affordable prices, noting it's a great spot for authentic local experiences. Some caution that seafood prices require negotiation and knowledge of market rates, suggesting it's more of a local market than a purely tourist one.
"Great choice of street food, clothes and fresh vegetables/seafood. Quite clean, especially considering the crowd. Good prices, we were very happy to have visited it on our last day."

"Quite some variety of seafood but the asking price is quite high, a typical bargain market of seafood. Asking vs shake hand price can be 50% off. One must have basic knowledge of seafood, market price, judgement of freshness, good or not, how to cook, before buying anything. Otherwise go a honest restaurant and order there. For reference, market price of some common seafood @2025 price level per kg is more or less:
Farmed shrimps 200-300B
Wild caught medium sized white prawn 500B
Large tiger prawns 600-800B
Fresh water prawns small 200-250B
Fresh water prawns mega size 800B+
Small ("

"I love this market. There are many stalls there with lots of clothes, bags wallets and souveniers etc. At the back of this market there are several food places and each offers a different style and type of food at very reasonable prices. They have tables and chairs for comfortable dining. This place is just a short very pleasant 5 minute walk to the beach."
