What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the stunning panoramic views of the gulf and bay, especially during sunset, and appreciate the temple on the summit. However, a significant drawback for many foreigners is the strict entry policy due to the viewpoint's location within a Thai Naval Base, leading to disappointment and wasted trips. The narrow, unlit road and bold monkeys also require caution.
"Great view, only we arrive there a bit late around 18.10 the sky already turned dark but there was orange rim light of the sun. Parking is available. On the way down there is no street light so need to be careful as there was runners walking down the road too. Drive slowly and carefully when dark. The road is quite narrow uphill and curvy."

"I'm sure it's beautiful but beware all farang (foreigners):
This viewpoint is well inside a Thai Naval Base. For reasons of national security, NO FOREIGNERS ARE ALLOWED INSIDE the base's perimeter proper, and so you will NOT be allowed through the main gate without an ID proving Thai citizenship. This makes perfect sense: if you allow one farang you must allow them all, and you don't want foreign nationals who may or may not be from unfriendly countries with ulterior motives wandering freely and unsupervised in cars or on motorcycles inside your military facilities.
I have nothing against the policy, but I did waste time driving here for nothing. I'm just sharing this information in the hopes that other farang don't waste their time.
The one-star review is not meant as an insult. I'm sure the view is worth four or five stars, but I didn't get to see it."

"Seem they done allow foreigner. I am a foreigner too but I have Thai driving license and on that basis the main entry gate officer allowed me but when I reached to the next office before the vising point, he understood that I am not Thai and asked that foreigners are not allowed but I showed him the card given by the 1st officer on depositing my driving license and then he allowed me.
Great views from the top.
No shops as such. But on the return way, there is a cafe ."

This implies they are not shy and may approach visitors, potentially attempting to snatch food, drinks, or shiny objects. It's essential to secure all personal belongings and avoid displaying food openly.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, it's recommended to maintain a respectful distance from the monkeys and refrain from feeding them. This not only protects your belongings but also helps preserve the natural behavior of the animals.
