What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Si Yaek Hua Takhe is lauded for its unique cat boat tours and charming traditional market atmosphere, offering a peaceful escape near Bangkok. Visitors rave about the novelty, the picturesque wooden houses, and the delicious local food. However, some express concerns about the cats' welfare during the tours, suggesting they may be over-trained.
"We were on the last tour that started at 17:20, service was very polite and very easy but this is not what my review is about. Most of the cats wanted to get clearly of the kayak when the kayaks from the tour before arrived, but they couldn't. The cats have to stay until the last kayak tour finishes and they don't have an option to leave before. They were not treated bad but they are trained and it felt like a circus as you can feed them snacks to get them closer to you. They are very cute but for example the white fluffy cat looked clearly intimated and hid in the kayak as she could not get off. If you love and respect cats I would not recommend booking the kayak tour. I got a different impression when I was booking the tour and thought the cats would have a chance to leave whenever they want, but that's not the case."

"One of the best and calm place I’ve ever stayed in Bangkok. Located just 10 mins from BKK airport, in old stylish Thai market by canal. I had double room with tiny balcony and trust me - everything in the room was just perfect! All of the buildings in the market, including room are made of wood making this place look exceptional. I also get few bottles of water and welcome fruit plate. Room rate includes kayaking with lovely cats which amazing experience. Also, the owner took me some great pictures during kayaking (one of the best photographer I’ve ever met tbh). Trust me, go there before it become more popular :)"

"Such an awesome and unique experience! Should be on every top 10 things to do in Bangkok list.
The cats are wonderful, the river is very romantic during sunset, the food was good. We were beyond amazed at how great of an experience this turned out to be.
It's very reasonably priced.
A bit hard to find the place/access it - the road is a bit narrow and steep, our Grab ride navigated to the wrong side of the river, so mind the instructions they send you in Instagram or however you contacted.
Unfortunately we didn't have enough time but it seems like the surrounding area has a lot to do in."
