Just spent 3 days in Bangkok and am now flying to Surat Thani tomorrow. My ferry is the next day with Luprayah to Koh Tao and I'm looking for a decent hotel thats close to the peer for a 1 night stay. Any recommendations are welcome. Thanks!

Night market and night boat to Ko Phangan on the Tapi riverfront in 2018. Not many tourists stay overnight here. In late 70's and early 80's the town still had some wooden buildings and the night boat was the only way to get to Ko Samui.

"The Street Food Night Market in Surat Thani Town was a nice surprise, small but full of local vibes. Lots of food stalls with everything from grilled seafood and spicy curries to roti and coconut desserts. Prices were cheap, most people were locals, and it felt pretty laid-back. I grabbed a few things and ate by the river. Nothing fancy, but definitely worth checking out if you're in town."

"There are both savory and sweet foods. There are many to choose from and a lot. It's fun to walk around. I really recommend it. The food is reasonably priced. There are always people. You can buy and find a seat in the temple where there are tables. Sometimes there will be music. You can park around the temple or come into the temple for a small fee. It's very suitable for tourists. The market is a bit short but there are many things for sale. Most of the food is traditional. I recommend trying many things, a little bit of each."
