What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise the west coast of Phuket for its beautiful beaches, excellent service, and family-friendly resorts. The stunning sea views and multiple swimming pools are frequently highlighted as major draws. However, some guests note that the hillside locations can involve a lot of stairs, and the immediate area might be quieter than other parts of the island, with some suggesting exploring further for more entertainment options.
"This was the perfect holiday resort, especially for families! June was really helpful and was always delighted to serve us to the best. Our kids enjoyed their stay for a couple days and we tried staying an extra but it was fully booked! Definitely coming back before Xmas"

"This hotel provides excellent service. The rooms are very clean. The food and beverages are also very impressive. Especially P'Kwan, P'Ying, P'Tae, and all the staff. Their service is truly excellent. I would recommend staying here."

"It's a nice hotel with a pleasant area, but keep in mind that it's located on a slope and has multiple levels, so you'll need to walk up and down stairs. The downside is the hotel's location, which is not very convenient. On the other side of Karon Beach, there are more interesting places, and this side is more peaceful. If you're looking for more entertainment, consider choosing the further side of the beach."

Navigating Phuket's West Coast Beaches
Many resorts along this coastline are built on hillsides, offering breathtaking sea views but requiring some walking. This unique topography means you might find yourself ascending and descending stairs to reach your room or the beach. While this can be a workout, the panoramic vistas are often worth the effort. It's important to consider this when booking, especially if mobility is a concern.
When exploring, consider renting a scooter for ultimate freedom, or utilize Grab and local taxis. While Phuket City and Patong are known for their bustling nightlife, the west coast generally offers a more relaxed pace, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the natural beauty of the Andaman Sea.
Accommodation Styles on the West Coast
Travelers often praise the excellent service provided by resort staff, noting their politeness, warmth, and attentiveness. Rooms are generally described as clean and comfortable, with some reviewers comparing the quality favorably to hotels in the United States, despite the potentially lower price point. However, it's worth noting that some accommodations might require a bit of a climb due to their hillside locations, which is a common characteristic of west coast resorts.
For those seeking a quieter stay, it's advisable to look beyond the most popular beach areas. While Karon and Kata are beautiful, they can attract more crowds. Exploring slightly more secluded spots might offer a more peaceful retreat, though amenities might be more spread out.
