Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Emerald Cave's unique beauty, describing the hidden lagoon as a 'sweet heaven' with stunning emerald waters. The adventure of swimming through the dark cave is a highlight, though some note it can get crowded. Early morning visits are highly recommended for a more magical experience. Reddit+2

"Accessible during high tide during half moon (tidal height 2m). Get a head light in a supermarket in the village.
You can rent a canoe at Charly beach, for 3 hours. If you arrive after 3:30, the entry of 200 baht per person at the cave does not need to be paid.
We left the beach at 3:30 and had the lagoon behind the cave for 10 minutes for ourselves. Then 10 people with different boats arrived"

Jonas Schäfer

"A hidden sweet heaven. The colour of the water is like emerald and this is how it gets the name I guess. You can go there with a guided tour or rent kayaks from Charlie Beach (also known as Garnet Beach), 100 baht for an hour. This is what we did.
If you are going solo make sure you have a dry bag and a torch with you. In the entrance you can see the Morakot Cave sign. The entrance is easy to miss, it’s to the right side of the sign. There will probably be other boats in-front of the entrance, you can ask them if you are not sure.
We went there around 1PM when the tide was getting lower. With a little head bows, we could go in there with the kayak. It gets narrow and it’s not a short way to get to the other side.
Is it worth visiting? Definitely!
When we get there there were only 2 people but then a big tour group came and it’s more magical when there are few people."

Cigdem Gureli Middleton

"The very unique beach enclosed with huge tall walls of rocks
There is no way in or out, except the cave which you can swim in, only at the time of low tide
One of the best experiences I ever had in nature of Thailand
You can find few tourists here and most of the visitors are local thai people and families"

The journey through the darkness is an adventure in itself, often requiring a headlamp or torch. InstagramReddit

Emerging from the cave is a breathtaking moment. You'll find yourself in a secluded, almost perfectly circular lagoon, enclosed by towering limestone cliffs. To truly appreciate the magic, timing is crucial. Visiting during low tide allows for easier passage and can sometimes mean avoiding the 200 Baht entrance fee. Early mornings are highly recommended to experience the lagoon with minimal crowds, making the atmosphere feel even more exclusive and serene. Reddit+1
