Wat TraphangthongIt is one of the oldest temples in Sukhothai Province. Located within the Sukhothai city walls Or to the east of the Ramkhamhaeng National Museum, Sukhothai, there is a highlight which is an ancient site located on an island in the middle of a pond called "Traphang Thong"
Wat Trapang Thong was built in the Sukhothai period. There is no clear evidence of when it was built, but it is assumed that it was built during the reign of King Maha Thammaracha Lithai.
The temple was renovated many times during the reign of King Maha Thammaracha Lithai and around 1907 by Phraya Ronnachai Chanyut (Krut) who led the people in restoring the ordination hall."
