What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
This massive market is a shopper's paradise, offering an incredible variety of goods at bargain prices, especially for clothing and home textiles. While many items are replicas, unique finds and great deals are abundant. Be prepared for a sprawling, potentially disorienting experience that requires comfortable shoes and a full day to explore.
"THIS IS THE SHOPPING BARGAIN YOU'VE LOOKED FOR. I've lived in Bangkok for 4 years and there isn't anything else like this in Thailand. Please Do Not Bother With Wikipedia. They Are Wrong. This place is much larger than they say. It has it's own Police Department and Hospital. I didn't add many pictures because my camera destroyed them, but if you want something, it's here. Seriously, it's here, somewhere. The market does not stop, it just continues on well past the parameters of the boundaries itself. It's Easy To Get Lost. It's Really Easy To Loose Your Car. This is not the kind of place you go to buy perishables, it's too big, but you can find them on the outskirts. Be prepared to see the biggest market in Thailand and spend all day."

"Updated September 2023. Very quiet when I visited on a Thursday. Quite a few empty stalls. Not so many fake goods.
If you are looking for copies of original brands in shoes, clothing and accessories then you won't be disappointed. Some original clothing items which are eye catching. How good the quality is well I would imagine for the price a couple of washes and its done. You get what you pay for and these are coming in at 100 to 200 baht. Some food and drinks stalls. Toilets available cost you 5 baht."

Navigating the Labyrinth
To make the most of your visit, comfortable footwear is paramount. The sheer scale means you'll be on your feet for hours. While there are food and drink stalls to keep you refreshed, the primary focus is on shopping. The market is not ideal for purchasing perishables, as these are typically found on the outskirts. Instead, focus on non-food items and enjoy the thrill of the hunt.
The Art of the Bargain
Beyond clothing, visitors rave about finding excellent deals on home textiles like towels, blankets, and curtains, with some noting these items are hard to find elsewhere. The shopping experience is enhanced by proactive sellers who offer discounts upfront, making the negotiation process smoother. While haggling is part of the culture, appreciating sellers who are upfront with fair pricing can lead to a more pleasant transaction. Visiting during gift-giving seasons can also yield more items on sale, though it will likely be more crowded.
