What Travellers Say

Visitors often praise the magnificent golden teakwood architecture and the historical insights into King Chulalongkorn's life. The intricate craftsmanship and the serene gardens are frequently highlighted as positives. However, the mansion's frequent closures and the strict no-photography rule are common points of disappointment for those planning a visit.
"A decade ago, I took my parents to explore this magnificent palace. Constructed from the largest golden teak wood in the world, it is the first permanent throne established by King Chulalongkorn, graciously located within the Dusit Palace grounds.
The intricate carvings and exquisite craftsmanship of the palace left us in awe, each detail telling stories of a rich cultural heritage and royal grandeur. As we wandered through its opulent halls, the warm glow of the teak wood enveloped us, creating an atmosphere of timeless elegance.
We marvelled at the blend of traditional Thai architecture and European influences, a testament to the visionary spirit of the king who sought to modernize his kingdom.
In the gardens surrounding the palace, fountains danced under the sunlight, and vibrant flowers painted the landscape with vivid hues. The serenity of the setting offered a peaceful retreat from the bustling city beyond the palace gates.
My parents were particularly taken by the history that seemed to whisper from every corner, providing a glimpse into a world of regal splendor and historical significance.
This trip became a cherished memory, not only for the beauty we witnessed but also for the shared experience of discovering a piece of history together. It was a journey through time that deepened our appreciation for the art, culture, and legacy of this remarkable place."

"I enjoyed my visit (22.11.15) I was a solo visitor and walked around on my own. I was left to wander at my own pace seeing all I wanted to see at my own pace.
Its nice and cool out side even though at the time it was 35c outside.
Lots to see inside and lots of history.
Once your past the bag search, putting your items into a locker and then shoes off and having your clothing checked ( you have to dress respectfully ) You enter.
Also note, no photography allowed."
