Reviews Summary
Visitors generally find Wat Pong Sanuk to be a beautiful, serene, and quiet temple with unique architectural influences. The friendly black cat is a memorable, albeit cautious, encounter for many.
"We both enjoyed our visit. Its a working Temple.
Located just over the Wang River from the main tourist area of Lampang City.
Can I just apogise for the next part : so many of you advertise this as a UNESCO site!!! It's not, so please do your research before visiting thinking its a UNESCO site.
It received a UNESCO award of merit in 2008 (as per the signage at the main gate), which does not make it a UNESCO site.
It's joined to a second Wat and easy to walk around.
Beware of the black cat that hangs around opposite the main entrance to this temple.
It's got a lovely collar and is very much domesticated, but wow, it feins friendship so easily and I'm sure I'm not the first tourist its drawn blood from. If it falls onto its back in the hope of a belly rub, don't fall for that trick.
Overall, an enjoyable 30 minutes walk around the temple (s)."
