What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the center's dedication to sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation, finding it a worthwhile stop to learn about marine conservation and the impact of pollution. The on-site cafe and souvenir shop are also noted as pleasant additions. However, some reviewers feel the facilities are somewhat dated and could benefit from modernization and more enrichment for the turtles.
"Tickets are 100 baht on the door, no need to pre book!
Came along today and have the loveliest experience. It was really special to see all the turtles of different ages and breeds.
I wish there was someone to bring you round and tell you about the turtles, how the conservation programme works and what they do for the turtles. We just walked around ourselves which was fine, but would be more of an experience with someone who knows the turtles🐢
I would also say the tanks sometimes feel a bit overcrowded with quite a few more turtles than i think should be in there, some of the tanks weren’t super clean, a lot of algae around. The place is a little rundown, so i hope the ticket fee is put back into the running of the place."

"We really enjoyed our visit to the Sea Turtle Conservation Center. The area is very clean and well maintained, and it’s clear that the staff care deeply about protecting these amazing animals. There are many different turtle species to see — from tiny hatchlings to large adults — with informative signs and explanations in English, making it both educational and enjoyable.
One important thing to know: the conservation center is located inside a military base, so you’ll need to register at the entrance with your passport — make sure to bring it along."

"Good work they are doing here too look after the turtles prior to release. However, while the tanks were a good size, there were very sparse and lacking any features which would add interest for the occupants. In particular I felt the largest resident - a large leatherback turtle, seemed frustrated and was moving his head back and forth on the same part of the wall. However, I'm no expert and I'm sure the aim and end result are honourable.
No point booking on a tour for this, just turn up in a Bolt/Grab, get straight to the ticket desk and pay about the equivalent of less than £1 each entry. Interestingly, it is situated in a Thai naval base so there are other points of interest én route."
