Junkanoo Beach is a popular, free public beach known for its lively atmosphere, clear waters, and convenient location near the Nassau cruise port. Visitors enjoy the vibrant music, beach bars like Tiki Bikini Hut, and the option for water sports. However, some find the beach can be rocky, occasionally littered, and vendors can be quite persistent with sales pitches.
"This is a popular free beach because it is so close to the cruise ship terminals and it is an easy walk along Bay St. It is full of vendors selling beverages and other things. The water is clear but the beach is rocky and overall dirty. Local vendors can be aggressive about selling on this beach. There are beach chair and umbrella rentals offered. Loud music is played so it's not peaceful and relaxing. Move further down and it is quieter but not cleaner."

"Beautiful little beach, clear waters, located right in the centre of Nassau. Definitely worth having a quick dip at first light when the sun has just come up, the water is already warm and the crowds have yet to arrive. You can watch the cruise ships arriving. Gets busy during the day."

"The beach is a close walk to the port. Roughly 15-20 minutes depending on how fast you walk. The water is very clear but there is vegetation and grows in most of the parts. The sand and beach overall is very nice. You can find vendors and restaurants along the beach. There are chair rentals and water sports rentals as well. The locals will aggressively try to sell you chairs drinks umbrellas tours the moment you step out of the port and especially on the beach. Once I sat down on the sand I was approached a handful of times. Due to its convenient location and clear water I would recommend as an activity that’s free."
