"Our visit to the Parliament Square was filled with great surprises. The square was laid out in the late 1700s to early 1800s by loyalist refugees from North Carolina following the American Revolutionary War. The buildings reflect both British colonial and American Federal styles, reminiscent of structures in New Bern, North Carolina.
We had the opportunity to interact with some government officials who invited us inside the lobby and explained the history and political views of the area. Entry is free, and the square is open to the public. You can also enter the building to visit the Assembly Gallery if it is in session. The best time to visit is on weekdays during the session months of January, April, July, and October, when you can see the Parliament in action.
Don’t forget to go to the back of the building, where you can explore the garden and other important buildings, such as the library and the Supreme Court."
