What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Five Islands Water & Amusement Park is a popular spot for family fun, offering a good mix of water slides, amusement rides, and an indoor arcade. Visitors praise the variety of activities and the overall enjoyable experience for kids. However, some note that seating areas could use upkeep, food prices are a bit high, and the bag check process can be lengthy.
"Five Islands is a wonderful place to relax, have a good time, enjoy water activities, play games and eat tasty food. There are two parks (water and games). The water parks has all the pools, lazy river and slides. The other park has roller skating, kart driving and many other stuff. There is an indoor area with arcade games and trampolines. Food and drink is available. Did I enjoy the park? Yes I definitely did. The food was delicious and the drinks were good. There are so many things to do you that will be dead tired if you even attempt to do everything. So maybe leave the lazy river for last. The bathrooms were clean and staff were always nearby to assist you or guide you. There is a huge car park so parking should not be a problem. The place is also very family friendly. Kids will love it here. What I did not enjoy, when you arrive staff must search you and your bags. That is fine but the process took a bit long and the only shelter is under a tent. While waiting, rain came down and well we had to shelter with a towel because the process took a while due to the volume of people waiting to be searched. The park is huge with various places to sit. There are seats near the pool but many of them were old and dirty. I spread a towel across it because I did not feel comfortable sitting on the chair. Food and drinks were a bit expensive.
Definitely check them out if you are into these things and with a group of people you may even be able to qualify for some special price as they often have group rates. Be warned though, that when the park closes at 6:00 p.m. and everyone is leaving it could take approximately one hour or more in traffic just to get into Port of Spain."

"Overall, the kids had a great time. Since it was raining, we didn’t get to experience the amusement park, but the waterpark was the highlight with plenty of good options. The lazy river was enjoyable, though it could use some upkeep—paint is cracking and walls are chipping in places.
The rides themselves were fun, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout. Food and even adult drinks are available, which is a nice touch for families spending the day.
I’m giving it 4 stars mainly because of the aesthetics, the limited variety of water rides, and the fact that there isn’t a true amusement park experience. Still, it’s a great spot for a family outing."

Went again in 2023 with bros and Im going again this year"

Family Fun and Considerations
For families with toddlers, the park offers safe spaces and activities, though it's important to be aware of potential height restrictions on certain slides, which can sometimes be inconsistently applied based on age. Bringing life jackets is recommended for younger children, although they are also provided by the park.

However, it's worth noting that the food can be a bit pricey, and some amenities, like cabanas, might benefit from improved services such as dedicated ordering or functioning fans.
Tips for a Smoother Visit
When it comes to comfort, some of the seating areas, particularly near the pools, might be old or in need of cleaning. Bringing a towel to spread out is a good idea. Also, consider the traffic when planning your departure; leaving the park at closing time can result in significant delays, particularly when heading towards Port of Spain.
Finally, for those looking to save, inquire about group rates, as they can offer a more affordable option for larger parties. Planning your visit during weekdays can also lead to a more relaxed and enjoyable experience with fewer crowds.
