"This mosque contains a lot of Trinidad’s Islamic missionary history. Located in downtown Port of Spain, it became an early center of learning for Port of Spain’s growing muslim community in the early twentieth century. Jama Masjid Queen Street as its fondly called, was often the first prayer hall of call for visiting scholars, tourists, cricket teams. Currently undergoing phased renovations, the men’s and women’s prayer halls have been newly constructed and outfiited (with Air con). On Friday’s the car park gets crowded quickly but there is street parking. The Masjid continues to upgrade its facilities and there are donation boxes inside if you’re interested. Worth a visit."
