Visitamos Dar Hussein el #palacio que alberga el Instituto Nacional del #Patrimonio Tunecino. Haroun AYARI

"- Dar Hussein Palace

Dar Hussein occupies the site of the Bani Khurasan Palace. The fate of the house was linked to three high-ranking Mamluks during the Turkish period. The first was Ismail, the minister's kahiya and son-in-law of Bey Ali Pasha (1758-1781), who lived there until he fell out of favor and was exiled. Later, Youssef Sahib al-Taba'a restored it for his planned marriage to Princess Fatima, sister of Sultan Hamouda Pasha, which was never completed due to the tragic disappearance of the minister. The third residence was General Hussein, who lived in the house as head of the first municipal council, as the palace was chosen to host the municipality established in 1858.

The palace is now the headquarters of the National Institute of Arts and Heritage."
