"The construction of the first fortifications in Edirne was started under the supervision of Hoxha Isak Efendi, interpreter of the Imperial Council, in the face of the Russian occupation in 1829. One of the most important of these structures built was the "Hıdirlık" bastion, which was also used in The First Balkan War .The "Hıdırlık" bastion is the largest bastion in Edirne with a circumference of approximately 1800 meters. It consists of the main entrance building, the artillery rooms, the artillery batteries (gun position), a trench and a courtyard.
I recommend visiting this military museum. It is mainly dedicated to the Balkan War, after which the Ottoman Empire lost Edirne Thrace."
