"Located in the Hacıfeyzullah Neighborhood of Kuşadası District, the Güvercinada Castle was built in a position protecting the port at the mouth of the Kuşadası Gulf. On the Güvercinada, there is an inner castle built by Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha and walls built by İlyas Ağa. These walls were built during the Morean Revolt to prevent attacks from the islands and the sea. The walls were built approximately 3 meters high to surround the island. The stones used in the construction of the castle were brought from Yılancıburnu. To the south of the walls, there is a round-arched castle entrance gate with two towers that can be reached by stairs facing east. The north tower is pentagonal, while the south tower is cylindrical. The inscription space above the gate shows that there was an inscription here before. The inscription of the construction of the walls is on the northern tower wall. The inscription is 4 lines and 20 verses. Year 1242 (1826)."

"Güvercinada is one of the historical places to visit in Kuşadası. The entrance was free when we went and I think it still is. There is a green area inside where you can easily walk around and there are statues of some important people and informative biographies. When you see the island from a distance, it looks very impressive. I especially recommend seeing it with night lighting."
