"To be honest, I wasnt expecting much considering Mersin is a quieter town. However I was pleasantly surprised at the number of exhibitions and the depth of effort put into this museum. The differently floors highlight Mersin's evolution including the Roman influence on its history. Very good display of status, burial sites, pottery and artefacts. The cost to enter was approximately 4 Euros per adult and available at the door. If you are visiting Mersin you should definitely visit. Even the local I travelled with was surprised since he had never been here before."

"Very well made archeological museum about the finds in the region from neolithic times to today. Museum is quite similar to the ones in Adana, Tarsus, Gaziantep, and Şanlıurfa."

"I recently visited the Mersin Museum of Archaeology, and it was like stepping back in time. The collection of sarcophagi and burial jars is particularly impressive, showcasing intricate designs and well-preserved colors that highlight ancient burial customs in Cilicia. The craftsmanship on the stone coffins and pottery burial containers is remarkable.
Another standout was the marble sculptures, especially the grand statue depicting a powerful figure alongside a smaller, headless statue, symbolizing loyalty or protection. The ornate marble ornament with floral designs also caught my eye, reflecting the incredible artistry of its era. If you appreciate history and ancient craftsmanship, this museum is definitely worth a visit!"
