"The neighborhood was first mentioned in Ancient Greek mythology; Argonauts looking for the Golden Fur also visited Rumelifeneri. The construction of Rumelifeneri Castle in the neighborhood began in 1769. Toussaint reorganized the project of the castle in 1783, Lafitte Clavé in 1785 and in 1794. Sources about the castle belong to 1781 and 1793. There is also Sarı Saltuk Tomb in the neighborhood."

"This place is amazing! There is an ancient fortress there with fantastic views of Black sea, towers and fighting arena. And of course the view of the lighthouse itself. We saw it in the fog and it looked rather mysterious. But the fortress we visited breathes with the time of Turkish battles"
